Restore the Shore 2016

Pender & Coward unleashed the power of more than 50 volunteers to bring a battered shoreline back to life along the Elizabeth River. Clean up efforts and replanting of native plants were part of this endeavor on August 13 and 27, 2016. Under the leadership of environmental attorney Jim Lang, the firm not only eliminated a Floating Junkyard that was choking the river but also committed ingenuity, time and resources to cleaning the river bank and restoring the shore.  Later, on June 11, 2022, the firm rallied volunteers to return to our adopted shoreline along the Elizabeth River for Restore the Shore 2022 to clean up debris that had accumulated since the firm's original Restore the Shore event in 2016.
